The game simply doesn't let you sit back even a little bit to recover your lost fleet, you are dropped in the next area without resources, having to send out a new fleet to harvest new resources, only to be bombarded by an attacking fleet often less than 1-2 minutes into the match.
It carries over from the last round, and if you just spend the last round getting your ass blasted because you don't entirely understand the basics of every ship properly, you'll have to start again from scratch and try again.

The tutorial also only covers the basics of movement, and the first mission only lets you play around with different maneuvers. Everything else needs to be researched yourself, and then I do the research and discover I did everything wrong, and get assfucked by a pathetic excuse for a fleet.

I've started over from scratch twice already, first because I focused too much on Scouts and too little on the Heavy Cruisers, then again when I didn't focus enough on the Salvage Corvettes enough and too much on the Heavy Cruisers and useless interceptors.

Then I finally got the hang of it and got further into the game than I ever could before, only to discover that I needed support frigates I couldn't afford, and didn't steal enough cannons.
