I feel like Duke Nukem 3D was a lot more controversial than either Doom or Postal. Postal was looked at as satire based on the 90's fear that a postal worker could just snap and go on a killing spree "going postal". Duke 3D really added a recognisable protagonist with (stolen) quotable one liners with this over the top personality. The idea that you could give strippers money so they can flash their boobs at you was controversial.

Also, 3DRealms got on the Tomb raider band wagon with Duke Nukem : Time To Kill for the PSX. A game that never tried to hide its' Tomb raider influence, but adds more guns, and Jon St. John wisecracks. I kinda liked this more than POP3D.

Time To Kill also has a sequel on the PSX called Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes, which IMO, kinda sucked. I liked Time to Kill more.

Nothing fancy here, just boring old Lara Croft. A banal choice maybe, but I'm not a complicated man.
