/vr/ - Retro Games

There's a alot of potential for the many retro game series to have a comeback. The problem is if there is a developer good enough to make that good retro game even better than before.

Why hasn't there been a hack and slash Strider Hiryu? It would play like Metal Gear Rising except much harder and being swarmed by many enemies, big and small.

Why hasn't there a remake of Final Fight that plays like Shenmue where your not just your fighting the Mad Gear Gang, you would be exploring the town of Metro City, talking with locales, doing mundane stuff like shopping for clothes, training your skills, wasting your time playing the arcades(Final Fight 1 included) or if your the Mayor of Metro City, you would be handling the city taxes or something?

Why hasn't there been a 3d Mega man where you could do the usual 2d Megaman gameplay of killing those 8 robot masters/mavericks/whatever, traversing their hideouts, killing enemies while doing some insane platforming like jumping great distances, walljumping and more.

or a Hack and Slash remake of Megaman Zero, where you do all that shit I said above except you as Zero.

I could talk all day about this but it goes to show that many retro series have the potential to make a big comeback. The problem is if there a developer good enough to do it.

I can understand why it would be tough, but for some reason, as Megaman or Bass, it never was that hard for me. Guess I make up for that by still not being able to beat Magicman without the Tengu Blade.
