SSF2T and UMK3 killed the retro scene for me in the sense that they're so good that I can't put myself into learning in-depth another fighter because "at last I have SSF2T and UMK". I also like to dick around with the Capcom Versus games, specially with friends. Never took them too serious competitive-wise.

That said, I really want to start playing Darkstalkers 3, but I'm afraid no one plays that game anymore, not even the Resurrection cashgrab on Ps3/360.
