>You underestimate the prices they were when new. I get your point though, and it's a good one.
I certainly had some clarity issues in that post, but I was trying to convey that a 20" PVM in 2019 costs twice as much as any new high quality consumer model in 2004. Over the last 2-3 years we have all seen the price of a $20-30 crt tv go in upwards of $200 because some dope is trying to offload it while the market is hot "ZOMG RETRO GAMING CRT SONY TRINITRON $150" is not unusual to see on places like craigslist. Over a year ago I moved, and had too many CRTs. I got rid of the 20" Emerson EWF2004 with svideo in. I know I paid $15 for it earlier that year and it had a remote. For shits and giggles I listed it on Craigslist at $100, and got 3 offers that day to come pick it up. I doubt it cost $150 new. The guy that ended up picking it up the next day was a "Smash bro". We got to talking about things, and he gave me another $150 for my gamecube and my few games. I dropped the price of the tv to $50 because I felt like I was ripping him off. Did they know something about that tv that I don't? I went out after I moved and bought another better samsung 20" with component in for $20.

Pic related was the emerson
