There were tutorials for other editors. Doombuilder works pretty much like any editor from the 90's but is a lot harder to 'break' anyway.

I have mapping experience too. I never had anything incorporated into any megawads though. But I am currently working on my own mini-wad pack with (hopefully) a boss monster at the end. A custom one. Not a hacked together one.

Pic relate - map I just started. It'll be the 5th one I make for this wad... 3 normal(ish) maps and a secret map... Plus this one...
