Holy crap, these “cheats” are amazing. I’ve never played FFVII before, but I think this def the last push I need to be convinced to give it a shot. I typically get antsy sitting one place for a while and can bored with a video game when I play it too long in one sitting. Having to sit through the same 3-4 second animation every 2 minutes in an classic rpg really drives me crazy, so the time speed cheat is particularly welcoming.

I loved a lot of the great SNES rpgs growing up - Chrono Trigger, Final FF IV/II and F VI/III, and Mario RPG among my favorites - and no matter how bad it was, I’m not ashamed to admit was a total sucker for Mystic Quest. But I stayed with Nintendo and never got a PS1, so I completely fell out of the Final Fantasy series.
So to a lot of people, this newest FFVII release may seem like a blatant cash grab - and it probably is - but it’s perfect for people like me. $10 on a PSN download is a less money, and far more convenient then having to buy a PS1 and even find a physical copy.
