Swords and Fucking Serpents. To save/load, you needed 5 passwords, one master PW and 4 for each of your characters in your party. They were a pain in the ass to enter every goddamn time, and God help you if you wrote them down wrong. Ruining a character password meant losing the character, ruining the master password meant losing your game progress. And then you could only start playing from levels 1, 5 or 10, depending on where you last saved, because the monk temples were in those levels. Madness, I'll tell you.
