Yeah, none of that advice was meant to be particularly mind-blowing, but it's essential to keep in mind that stacking like you do in TGM doesn't really work in NES.

For what it's worth, the original TGM isn't that hard. It's certainly more difficult than your average game but it's by far the easiest TGM game. Getting a GM in TGM is doable from nothing in around a year, I think. The gap between it and TAP is huge, and the gap between TAP and TI is even bigger.

TGM is a reasonable game for reasonable people. TAP is just a more demanding version of TGM that added hard drop so you don't have to play like a jabroni to play quickly. TI really just seems like it's out to get you for having the gall to enjoy it (pic related).
