it's because of the lack of proper visual feedback to indicate you're moving. there's no viewbob, no gradual momentum, no slide effect upon stopping dead on your tracks. which makes perfect sense considering you're required to move around the fight spaces with as less intricacies as possible.

that being said I've been working on a way to incorporate some tweaks into it. I want to make double jumping bob your view a little bit to imply proper thrust propelling (think jumping with the chainsaw equipped). increasing speed isn't at all hard to do, but implementing the berserk viewbob is probably gonna be a long way ahead still.
