I’ve had the RP2S for a week, and honestly, I still can’t bring myself to drop my MM+.

Android just does NOT compare to Linux. It just doesn’t. Sooo much tinkering has to be done to remove all the “phoney” elements from it, like the lock screen, the onscreen controls, the stupid white bar at the bottom of the screen, and then you have to install a frontend to make all look clean, even after all that, the OS just feels “off”; it never feels like a real console interface the same way OnionOS or SteamOS do. Fir example, Daijisho doesn’t have a playtime tracker for each game, because it doesn’t have the permissions to get that kind of data from all the different emulator apps. Meanwhile, OnionOS tracks playtime just fine, because it’s its own thing, and not some Frankenstein’d phone menu with lipstick put on.

And while horislop is indeed more ergonomic, vertislop is more portable, and the MM+ specifically is small enough to play slower-paced games with one hand. Playing stuff like Pokemon or Fire Emblem while I’m driving home from work is the comfiest feeling, and you can’t replicate that with horislop. So yeah, I don’t see myself dropping the MM+ for the RP2S any time soon
