>The game was also too big to fit on one cartridge, so they had to split it in to two games
The only reason S3 and S&K were separate games was because of a McDonald's tie in.

>PC Master race
There are no PC nowadays. It is all PC clones. IBM themself ended the PC series a long time ago. Their consumer low-end electronics divisions and rights like ThinkPad were sold to Lenovo.

Thank you! I feel like such an annoying nerd for doing this but it has to be said, SotN (and Rondo, for that matter) is Toru Hagihara's brainchild, Igarashi was just some programmer kid who took over as director halfway through, when the planning and a lot of the hard work had already been done, and he was lucky that it turned out as one of the greatest games of all time.
In fact, this idiotic revisionism that popped up in the last 6 or so years that claims Igarashi was almost solely responsible for SotN (which even spawned the eye-rolling moniker "Igavania") is one of the greatest injustices in gaming!
So, fuck Igarashi for not only encouraging but actively creating this myth when the ones involved in the game can't even defend themselves, it's gotten so bad people are starting to believe he created the whole franchise, guess erasing Hagihara's involvement wasn't enough, now Hitoshi Akamatsu won't get any of the little credit he got either...

Ackchyually that narrowed it down way more than you think. That panel isn't made by a Taiwanese company called IGS, so you'll only find it wherever the person who made it has put it. +10 points for missing the point that I was making fun of your zoomerism of calling a panel/cabinet/arcade game an "arcade". That panel is likely not in any arcade, just some dudes basement.

At least try to make a reasonable guess.
By all accounts, /vr/ seems to take the end of a console generation as cutoff point. The very end of 6th gen came with the advent of the PS3 = November 2006.
15 years is the most common amount of time it takes for something to become retro (like cars / "youngtimers"). So 6th gen will be retro on November 2021, earliest.
The Dreamcast is already retro because it has no successor and you cannot define the "end" of a platform with game releases, cause those still happen every year for the older platforms. So the beginning was also the end for the Dreamcast.

Well, actually...

The sharpest and most detailed picture is going to come from HDMI, Displayport, or DVI-D. Because it's a digital signal. No one said anything in this little discussion so far about the video having to be 15khz. Many /vr/ games ran in 31khz, notably PC and arcade games.

You could even do digital 15khz under some exotic conditions (certain handheld devices come to mind). Lag could be an issue, but again no one brought up lag so far.
