It is hard for me to appreciate old PC hardware because there is very little distinctive about it. Everything except maybe analog electronics on a sound card can be 100% emulated with modern software/hardware... because the underlying architecture is more or less the same. For this reason it's hard for me to get excited about shitty old graphics cards and outdated CPUs. I mean, a modern Intel processor can still run 8086 code.

Concerning consoles, where the architectures are much more varied and unique, I understand the interest.
