Why did Micro Machines style games die out? Fantastically fun genre that seemingly died out on the PS2 with Mashed which nobody played. Damn shame too, going back and playing V3 on the Playstation is like a breath of fresh air. Just pure unadulterated fun.
You'd think especially with how ubiquitous online play is now along with the low cost of making one and shoving on to online marketplaces we'd have had at least one copycat by now but it seems to be a genre consigned entirely to the past.

Name a more soulful racing game on PS1 if you can.
