Well yeah I mean if OP really did his greentext he came off as a douchebag AT BEST. There's such a thing as context, even if you want to show off your knowledge. OP could have talked about SMB2J/Lost Levels/Vs.SMB or he probably could have started a pretty interesting conversation with those guys by bringing up Donkey Kong Picnic which is a pretty cringey topic on /vr/ but would most likely be fresh to them. Oppositely he might have even been able to inspire some discussion if he'd brought up upscaling delay and CRTs which is a much more cringey topic in real life than on /vr/ but MIGHT have made a decent conversation if approached correctly but to go directly to the most obscure topic he could think of is some ultimate tryhard shit and I half believe it to be bait although I also have no trouble believing there are plenty of guys on neo/vr/ that would do exactly that after skimming what they see as the most intense generals for a week or so.
