Should note (while stating the obvious) that it's a homebrew game based on Doom, not the actual thing.

I wonder how much of an impact it would have if Carmack developed his raycasting engine 10 years earlier..There were many 3D games for britbong computers, but almost all of them did things "the hard way", that is rendering actual 3D models and designing the game around it being like 4fps.
