Well, I don't think any kid under 10 would get this far in the game, unless the child has a certain IQ and is clever enough to not only solve the puzzles by themselves, but are also able to distinguish between reality and videogame; and if not, the 'music' playing in the shadow temple is, in my opinion, scarier than any other feature there. Why should anybody bar children from a game because of its soundtrack?

Anybody who has ever actually read the instruction manual of video game platform of that time knows that the developers advised parents to never let children play video games alone in the first place. I've never heard of somebody doing so though - could well have been an 'empty compromise'.

Moreover, the developers didn't put an effort in designing the blood, traps and monsters as realistic and scary as possible. These elements weren't brought into the foreground, but were just an attempt to create a detailed dungeon.

>tl;dr: only plebs cannot see any difference between reality and a dungeon whose scary features were cleary brought into the background and whose music is scarier than the perceived violence because of a shitty display of blood.
