you can reduce it greatly if you aren't retarded, though.
>use VGA or DVI-A output with a good CRT monitor, preferably one with native 240p support
>build or buy an adapter that converts the interface of your controller of choice to an LPT (parallel) port, schematics can be found online
just by doing these two simple things, you can get back whole frames for the input. People who shit on emulation usually rock a shitty LCD monitor and a chinkshit 100MHz USB gamepad, no wonder it's a bad experience for them. They need to understand that emulation doesn't work perfectly out of the box, and it takes time to set up. Once you set it up though, you're on. You're able to get near-perfect accuracy for 90% of all retro consoles and their games. This will be very important when the proprietary chips of these old consoles start dying.
