> You can only include as much graphics as you need and also compress it to save space
Uh, no. That's not how CHR-ROM works. You're switching out banks of uncompressed graphics.
The only way you can compress graphics on the NES is with CHR-RAM, and with CHR-ROM bank switching solutions you can only switch uncompressed predefined chunks of the pattern table, usually 4/8 KB chunks with older mappers and 1/2KB chunks with later mappers.

if my memory serves me correctly, ZSNES was the first emulator to properly implement the CX4 chip...

>Emulation is huge in the Personal Computer scene
Well, for the first 10 years (roughly 95-05) of the existence of console emulators, PCs were the only thing that could run them.
I remember running emulators on the Wii was a big fuckin deal.

> Wait you cant play ps1 games from the hard drive (on a) ps2?
...well you can, sort of, but not natively. there is an official(ish) PS1 emulator called POPStarter that runs on PS2, it came bundled with some japanese only release, and it was hacked to work with ...most PS1 games. compatibility is not 100%, and even if the game runs, there are visual glitches, lag, and it's not a great experience for many titles.
but at the end of the day, you're still using an emulator, even if its an official one on official sony hardware, so at that point why not just use fucking duckstation?

>ZSNES
it gets so much hate today, some of it deserved, but goddamn that thing fucking flew and was a miracle for the hardware it ran on. Buttery smooth 60FPS on a Pentium III 450 felt like a fucking miracle. and it was, damnit, it was....
you had to be there.

sure fuckin did! i still have and use an Adaptoid N64 to USB adapter working perfectly after 24 years. Project 64 was hype but kinda glitchy, it was the first one worth a shit.

Does it say Vivitron on the front? If so, it has a trinitron tube in it and it's a fantastic monitor. It still might have the trinitron or similar tube in it, either way, usually those are very good monitors.

that's gonna depend on the assembler you use, each has its own quirks
also you might have those mov's backwards? z80 is usually destination, source which i hate and feels wrong but that's just how it is because that's how it always was

Arcana for SNES, it's an early Hal Laboratory game of all things.
imo its an awful fucking snoozefest of ultra repetitive early pseudo 3d graphical nonsense, however, the soundtrack is actually god tier thanks to Jun Ishikawa and Hirokazu Ando, later of Kirby and Smash fame
