Even if this was their mentality, they failed at even the superficial angle. Where were the impressive graphics? Crash and Burn was literally the only game available for the 3DO at launch and didn't look terrible but it was hardly some mindblowing next-gen thing. The Wipeout demo disk for PS1 blew it out of the water. And Jurassic Park had like two minutes of cool looking fmv but the game itself looked completely unimpressive.

And the Jag was even worse. Throwing Cybermoph out there as an introductory game alone was a crime against common sense. It was a worse looking, clunkier version of starfox with a draw distance of about two inches. Not only was it not impressive it made the Jag look less capable than the SNES that it was supposed to be four times more powerful than. Their pack-in title made the console look bad, and this was years after Nintendo and Sega had shown everyone the path by bundling Mario and Sonic with their consoles. It's inexplicable aside from just complete detachment from reality at the highest levels of the company.

How the FUCK can you be making one last, desperate attempt to save your company in the face of all this stiff competition...and your first salvo in the war for your brands' life is Cybermorph? Fucking Cybermorph? *That* was your retort to Mario and Sonic? Atari deserved its fate
