Here's a later gen multiplat that also includes PSP. I feel like the Dreamcast would have at least kept some pace here. Remember the Switch is still holding up mostly okay with the PS5 and Series X outside of a few standouts like the recent MK1 insanity.

Those all started on DC though. The situation might be worse off for it if games were going in the reverse.

It probably would have ended up in the same situation as the Wii. It'd get ports of most games but they'd be afterthoughts and noticeably downgraded. The alternative would have been to use the Dreamcast as the target and then upgrade games for the other systems. This was done in small ways, for example the Xbox versions often had some graphical boosts and progressive scan while the PS2 often didn't. But that's way less an encumbrance that using the Dreamcast as the target platform would have been. That would have forced the stronger consoles to deal with suppressed visuals on behalf of the Dreamcast.

Xbox had the advantage of universal progressive scan and occasionally 720p. PS2 and GCN were spotty.
