People have been wanting stuff like Wario Land or Teleroboxer on the 3DS for a while.

Sounds like the right home for the best game from the most infamous anti-hero.

Great mix of metroidvania and straightforward level progression. No backtracking, just comfy exploration.

I played SML3 and VBWL and loved them.
Have yet to play the others.

Wario's Woods is also fun.

Why are these games so damn good? Which one does /vr/ like the best?

If your criteria is "at least decent" games, I think Virtual Boy. It only has 1 shit game I can think of, Waterworld, and the other 20 or so are pretty decent, ranging to actually great like pic related.

Tough choice between SMB3/SMW, and WL1 /VBWL

I think with Mario I'd go with World.

For Wario I think VBWL is a much tighter experience (maybe the best Wario game in general), but I like the bigger scope of WL1 with world map and everything. VBWL is shorter but there's more goodness condensed. It's really hard deciding between the two.

Probably not worth $200 though, VBs used to be much cheaper years ago (like $10 cheap). Now they're collector items.
Emulating also doesn't give the same experience, although I've heard emulating with an oculus or one of these VR devices is pretty close or identical.
The controller is pretty boss, too.

seconding this gem, although if you've beaten only WL II, you might want to beat the first one, it's still an amazing game.

It's what you use to play the best Wario game ever made

it's short for a Wario game, but the best one for replays.
