They give you a shitload of abilities: easy to learn, hard to master.

Usually these old games have only one way to beat the level. You can use different strategies, but it all ends the same. And it doesn't grade how well you're doing. Players who speed through and ignore everything get the same reward as careful players who defeat all the enemies, provided neither dies.

You have to admit the number of different powers you can use is high for this game's time. Although it would be cool if certain bosses practically necessitated changing powers mid fight.

The music is memorable.
