Ah, if you're going to port them over to VR you might want to take a look at the anim_correct() function and its shortcut, am(), in AI.qc. Basically am(<number>) is placed at the end of each animation frame function, with the number indicating what kind of animation it is. This allows for things like anim_mod and the time dilation powerup to affect monster animation speed.
There's also PD3 turret stuff to consider, but I'm going to be making some changes to that anyway.
