As an owner of probably 20+ retro systems, NGP/NGPC has the best stick I've ever felt in my life. The thing is pure sex. I've not got super far in Dark Arms, but it's an outstanding game. Card Fighters games are surprisingly fun and fit the format perfectly, even if you're not terribly into CCGs. Metal Slugs, while different than straight ports, are exellently adapted to the format.

Honestly this system has so many great games (even as a non "fighter" game fan) that it's astounding to me.

I understand why it never caught on but if there were a backlit screen, better advertising, and cheaper price, I could see an alternate timeline where NGPC had a major market share in the handheld market.

Any anons out there a fan of Neo Geo Pocket? The thing's screen looks great, though no light. Not many games but some real good ones.

Must have been poor marketing, because I could have seen this thing doing well if they'd taken the "edgy sega" vibe back then.
