I don't know why you can't emulate PS1 games with Duckstation but I'll recommend Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for other anons anyway.

Starts out as a lighthearted Kirby-esque platformer with a cool jump and grab mechanic. Has a surprisingly decent story which becomes more dark and strange as you progress through the game. Definitely has that low-poly/sprite based dream feeling with a lot of atmosphere that toes the line between comfy and spooky.

I feel there's a surprisingly dearth of 3D platformers from Japan that aren't from n*ntendo.

And desu I feel like the last two barely even feel like platformers. What else is there?

Im a lucky one who owns the PS1 copy of Klonoa. What happens when you save all the little puzzle people? I've beaten the game already, but now I'm going back to save all the little puzzle people. What happens when I do it?

One of the best platformers for sure. Its really good.

I just beat Klonoa on my psp and now I'm craving more platformers that are as good / even better than this game emulatable on the psp. Any suggestions?
