I remember getting robbed at gunpoint playing this game. I still enjoy the game, and the home versions are pretty good especially without the authentic arcade experience.

Nope, see Nintendo titles. Say US SNES Super Metroid, beloved by all even in its day, still maintains its price. A lot of games still go for a bit now even with the abundance and popularity they once had ... Castlevania, Contra, Mega Man, etc. are system sellers to me, and currently have a value above "if someone steals it from a bin, no real loss" like the aforementioned outdated sports titles in US or Sakura Taisen in Japan.

Granted, the series was not the system seller to me for Saturn nor Dreamcast. It is more like a Call of Duty kind of game where everyone somehow has to try it because it seems like everyone else is hyped for it at the time.

Add in Playstation and SegaCD versions as well to the 4-player list (at least according to the back of the boxes). I still want to get it for the Saturn and 32X.


I too agree with Wipeout XL (2097 to others) could be great with 4-players. Panzer Bandit and Gunners' Heaven would have been so good if they even had 2-player option, so if they were 4-player that would send them into greatness Afterwards, I am drawing a blank outside racing, sports, and party games on the original Playstation. Most of what I had on the original Playstation was designed with the available hardware in mind and if they had a 4 player option, it would be relegated to its own battle mode (see, Bomberman Party and Rakugaki Showtime).

For Genesis as OP's pic shows, I would say some of the brawlers like Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Hyperstone Heist, Mazin Saga, etc. but I do not think the Genesis could handle that many large character sprites ... also run & run games like Contra: The Hard Corps and Gunstar Heroes would get way insane with 4 players.

I avoided shooting games because one of my more favorite ones on the Dreamcast, Giga Wing 2, is 4 player ... and I felt sorry for the bosses.
