I owned a copy of this game back in the day. I remember there were times when I would beat the game but the artwork wouldn't show up, basically a truncated ending. I forget what the requirement was for the "best" ending with the art... I think it was beating the whole game without exhausting all your lives (so no continues). Or maybe you had to get a high score past a certain threshold?

game needs a remake

sadly, we'd probably get a Link's Awakening type of remake over any other kind
