This doesn't change that it's really flat and repetitive, with garbage uninteresting enemies. That S-shaped path in the beginning is the epitome of throwaway design, the ball machines don't add any challenge. Moreover, skeletons' aim is so lame they can't even hit you most of the time. The flying enemies are not even funny to deal with.

Just compare it to Top Man's stage, for example. There's a new challenge at every room. From the bolt things to bulldozer guys, there's a new idea at every room—and there are 2 midbosses too.

MM4 took simply away everything that made MM3 challenging. It's just boring, although easier.

> If you want shit level design, check out MMV instead.
It's bland too, and vehicles drag it down even more, but actually it's not that much of a letdown after IV.

> As for bullet sponges, IV plays differently than the previous ones due to the charge alone. However, unlike in V or VI, the charge shot is BALANCED. You don't HAVE to use it all the time and it's still fun to play without it.
Because it's one of the best weapons in the whole game. The game's already simple, they also added charge shot which makes it simply boring.

X also had some enemies that didn't challenge you. But it had a lot of good, interesting ones too, and wasn't anywhere near as flat.
