The N64 Bombermans are different, they're 3D action-adventure games.
There was a traditional 2D Bomberman on the N64, but it's Japan-only and expensive as shit, one of the last games released for the system.
Anyway the first Bomberman 64 game has multiplayer mode that's essentially classic BM.
Of course Saturn or Super series is best, but N64 has the convenience of having 4 controller ports ready to go.

What's wrong with the original Bomberman?
I think the list is also missing the jp-only Bomberman 64.

While Saturn Bomberman and Super Bomberman 2 remain my overall favorites, Bomberman 64 (the 2D japan-only title) is one of my top BM games, and often overlooked.

There are more that were only released in Japan.
Pic related is Bomberman 64 (not to be confused with the 3D "Bomberman 64", which got a different title in Japan). This one also happens to be the last title released for the system, and one of the rarest.

Some others that come to mind are Ogre Battle 64 (has some 3D on the map, but all characters are 2D) and Super Robot Wars 64 (3D backgrounds, 2D sprites).

No, why did you think that?
It's a classic 2D Bomberman with 4 players out of the box.
