Willow is still one of the most under rated capcom licensed games. Probably the best swordplay for any 8-bit zelda clone (swing in arc or stab forward) plus the nice weather effects. Both music and weather changed when enemies were around.

Also in willow your sword swings start out slow and clumsy. As you level up and get better swords your reach and swing speed improve. You "earn" better play control over time, which is interesting since you start out as a novice.

Also the wind picks up and music changes when evil shit emerges. I always liked that aspect of it. I believe this may be the first console game of it's type to feature something like that.
