It's the opposite for me. I like Tenchu 2, but the weird-ass visual style of the original and the awesome string soundtrack made the game feel like a german-expressionistic fever dream. It's iconic.

T2 tried a more realistic look, which is always a mistake with PS1 visuals (also the daytime missions were a mistake)
