You should try it for yourself. Brutal Doom is basically pre-alpha Project Brutality.

If you play PB on "Last Man on Earth" difficulty you'll feel the real Doom experience like no other Doom game managed to deliver imho. You're a marine trying to survive an alien invasion, and that's exactly how it feels.
