Can anyone ID what game this song is from?
I'm wracking my brain but I can't figure it out.

What is with the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive's music?

On one hand you had music like this:

Whereas on the other, you had music like this:

Those are kind of extreme polar examples, and I'm sure your first thought is how it's just different composers and of course two songs won't sound alike. However, I know an awful lot of Genesis songs had the latter "tinny" and noisy quality, in fact, the majority of them seem to have an instantly recognizable "Genesis" quality. Why is there such a distinct difference and harshness of sound, especially since composers like Yuzo Koshiro proved that the Genesis is capable of pleasing-to-the-ear music? Is it a difference in Eastern and Western developers?

Yeah, yeah, I know, I don't exactly care for Pat either, but the topic was interesting

What do you think of the idea of the Mega Drive/Genesis soon becoming a popular system to collect for?

Personally I think there's too much bile built up from those who mindlessly followed the opinions of others and began to think that the Genesis a vastly inferior system compared to the SNES

How do I: an SNES fanboy, get into playing Genesis games? What are some good games to play that won't feel too too different from ones on the Super Nintendo? Or is there some other system that would suit me better?

Also, Sega Genesis thread.

Would you buy games full price if companies started doing legit development for your favourite retro consoles? I don't mean indie, I mean if something like Sega announced tomorrow that they were reviving support for the Genesis.

I would shit blood.

I never had a Sega Genesis as a Kid, as I was always a Nintendo Kid. I mildly regretted it one day, when I saw one of my friends playing a level of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and thought "Holy shit, that looks fun."

Well, I recently came into possession of a Sega Genesis Model 1 with two controllers, a power adapter, a composite yellow and white cable, Sonic 1, Sonic Spinball, Lion King, Aladdin, and Ecco the Dolphin all for 25 bucks from Craig's List. I then went out and bought Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles for a total of 13 bucks at a local retro game store. I've yet to play it since I am currently in work, and I picked this stuff up on my way to work this morning, but I am so overly hyped. I don't think you guys'll really care about any of that, but I just had to tell someone.

Anywho, here's my real question. What are those really good Genesis games that no one's heard of? I'm not talking about a game like Sonic 2 or something, where yeah, it's good, but everyone's heard of it. I'm talking about a Genesis game that is one of your favorites, but no one else has seemed to play.

TL;DR Hidden Gems of the Genesis.
