I think this is mainly because threads involving Deus Ex always contain civil discussion. In general, even if a game in question isn't under the pre-2000 guideline, if /vr/ wants to talk about it, we'll talk about it.

The problem lies with people spamming and shitposting NOT RETRO instead of just reporting and hiding. Considering the maturity level that is pretty consistent among most of /vr/, I'm willing to bet these people are not regulars here.

Also I think a lot of "can we talk about *this*" threads are obvious bait for argument. And I think Dreamcast threads are a good example - most people are willing to discuss the games, but 9 times out of 10 the OP kicks it off with "Dreamcast sure is retro, blah blah blah, can we talk about it", dooming the thread before it can start.

I wouldn't mind having some clarification put into the rules sticky. Hell, I wouldn't mind having a better sticky that has some links to recommended games and emulation options. That'd be nice, but I digress.
