I sometimes wonder if some of these guys browse /vr/ to vent. I don't believe their politeness, I feel like a lot of the times they want to say shit like "fuck boomers and the NES!, PS2 is the best!" but they don't in fear of being called out or something. /vr/ is anonymous though, so it works.

Don't mind me, just a sample of one of the many literal THOUSANDS of hidden gems the Play Station eXperimental has.

The audiophile meme started in the 00s. PS1 still has a very friendly and kiddy design with buttons that are easily recognizable symbols like triangle or circle instead of letters.
I agree that Sony tried to copy Sega of America's "edgy mature" thing, but that's just the marketing.
All consoles had "mature" games and kiddy games. PS1 has in fact more actual kid's games like pic related. N64 and Saturn have less games, but at the same time they spare themselves from having actual kid shovelware like the PS1 has.

Genuine question: why is it always Sony fans in these threads?
Same with Saturn threads, there's always Sony fans shitting it up.
If they have so many games to play on their playstations, why aren't they playing them instead of obsessing about other systems that aren't playstation?

Playstation is the real fisher price console with a friendly, light grey color and actual kids-only games, as well as RPGs (turn based so kids have time to process information in their tiny, still-developing brains) and FMVs that acted as virtual babysitters.
Meanwhile, N64 chads were enjoying party games with their bros and gfs, playing racing games and shooters in 4-player mode, while admiring the charcoal black color of the N64, just like their matured, non-kiddy souls.
