Yup, I got it for about $20 CIB years ago, also have it on Mother 1+2 for GBA.
The Mother 2 manual includes some soulful CGI illustrations of the many items in the game, it's interesting to see how some of these things look.

I don't really think a series can get tainted by fans. You can opt to ignore the fandom and still enjoy the games.
Also, Mother is a series that wasn't raped by its creators or parent company. It's a compact series of 3 games and that's it. Anyway, this thread should be about Mother 2 turning 25.

I don't think you are retarded, maybe you lack patience. NPCs give you enough clues as to what to do next, and if you're having trouble, you can actually buy hints in-game.

I've replayed the original Mother 2 on Super Famicom like 3 times now.
I actually ended up using different strats each time I played. My very first time I just tried to brute-force everything and got a lot of game overs, on subsequent replays I fucked around more with different PSI abilities and Jeff's items. I didn't discover the condiment system until my 3rd playthrough.

I love the weird CGI art of items on the Mother 2 booklet.
