Rayforce is probably my number one shooter of all time.

It's that sprite scaling, man, the stages are just so beautiful. And that slow decent from space into earth across the levels. When you look back on it as a whole, the transition is just so amazing and powerful. It reminds me of the early Gundam series, where they always made a huge deal about moving between Earth and Outer Space.
