Why was Sega the only prominent company that gave non-descriptive names to their consoles? Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast... Atari had the Jaguar but it didn't seem all too popular.

Do you prefer these kinds of names, or ones that are more like descriptions, like the Nintendo Entertainment System?

Favorite names for consoles?

I've tried playing this game three or four times and I feel like it's overrated. Really not trying to sound like an asshole, I've bought it twice. I just can't get into it. I'm also not really a huge fan of early 3D platformers in general, but more specifically N64 ones. DK64 and SM64 don't really do it for me either. It's got some decent music I think? I don't know what else to say. I want to like it, but it makes it SO hard.

I actually kind of like Video Game Years, the production value is staggeringly high for a web show. Seems like something that would have been a first-wave G4 show. Certainly some of the people on it are try-hard master rusemen, but I think it's good a show like that can exist amoungst the cesspool of other retrospective pieces narrated by Geoff Keighley or that asshole that does all of GT's shit. There's something genuine about it.
