I am looking for a good 8 or 16 bit JRPG but I am also wanting to discuss JRPGs this isn't JUST a request thread.

Some JRPGs that I've already played through.
Final Fantasy 1 (GBA Remake)
It was a great start to the series, the plot whilst kind of confusing when I first played through it ended up being quite interesting once I finally understood it. The game is pretty bad at telling you what to do next but that is also kind of a plus since it doesn't railroad you. I am really glad that I didn't play the original where if you had two or more characters attacking the same enemy and the first kills it all the other attacks are wasted. I really enjoyed some of the music especially the Chaos Temple. This is my second all time favourite Final Fantasy.

FF3 (DS Remake)
I really wish there was a GBA remake of this instead, I really don't like the Graphics they choose to use. However since this is Retro lets talk about stuff that was generally unchanged, the plot. I did not care for it all that much all the characters seemed childish and cowardly (maybe the graphics helped add to this) I prefer FF1 where the characters are blank slates for you to decide who they are or FF2 where the characters are actually heroic. Another thing that I hated, and this may be a DS Remake problem, is how hard it was to save you need to be in specific places that are way too spread out, I'll admit that in the last dungeon I borrowed a friends Action Replay to use a cheat that let me save anywhere so that while I was playing on my breaks I would actually be able to save and go back to work. Over all this is one of the Worst FF games I've played (13 is worse)
FFV
The story wasn't as great as some others but it was still good. The mechanics on the other hand were outstanding, I loved the class/subclass system and the game introduced Blue Mages, having to go around fighting enemies trying to coax them into using certain moves on certain characters was an incredibly fun diversion from the main story
