Another example of a GCN era first party game that clearly targeted older gamers: F-Zero GX. Suddenly the F-Zero franchise was transformed from this wacky cartoon world into a darker, grittier, futuristic one complete with realistic CGI cutscenes and rock music. It's full of early-2000s edge and is the sort of thing that Nintendo NEVER would have done in the Wii, Wii U or Switch eras, nor on the N64 either.

Just started playing a rom of this after having no familiarity with series whatsoever. What the actual fuck is wrong with Nintendo?

Figured maybe we could have an F-Zero thread. I've been playing pic related for the first time after having had this series at the back of my mind for ages and holy shit is it radical, everything from the aesthetics to the content to the ideal level of challenge. Used to have the arcade version at a local place but it disappeared a few years ago, really wish I got into this series sooner so I could've experienced it. Oh well. Definitely gonna try the previous games soon as well.

I'm playing this for the first time and its so fucking hard but so fucking fun. I've never really played another racer like it. I love Wipeout but its not really the same kind of thing at all

Can I get some tips? I've gotten through the ruby and sapphire cups on novice but emerald is kicking my ass. I've no idea how to best handle tubular sections and fuck, Half Pipe on Lightning is fucking me up.
