/vr/ what's your preferred method of recording PSX games? I've been using the pSX recording feature lately, and although the quality of the movie is phenomenal if you use Lagarith Losseless to encode, it only seems to work for small portions of the game. For example, if I attempt to record an entire playthrough, the whole thing goes off the rails and fails to properly create the movie of what I did. It has some re-enconding option though, so perhaps that's the way to do it?

I've been messing with DXtory too, but the thing seems to lag at some points, which pisses me off. I'm not sure if it's because my computer is not powerful enough or it's the way it works, but some portions have a huge lag for 2-5 seconds until it goes away. I've tried CamStasia, but the lag irritates me. Although it's less evident than DXtory's because it seems to spread through out the whole video, rather than a specific moment, it's a lot noticeable in fast paced games. I've thought about FRAPs, but I've never used it.

Also, what do you guys think of ePSXe's plugins for recording or PCSX-R? I'd like to use the native PSX resolution and graphics, which is why I'm using the pSX emulator so far. I also don't like that the textures in the two emulators mentioned above kind suck in some games (Resident Evil comes to mind). Still, if it's the best option available, I'm willing to give it a shot.

The PS1 startup sound used to scare me shitless as a young retarded child.

Used to always mute my TV before I turned the thing on, then unmute whenever the game started.

Also a lot of demo discs used to creep me out for some reason. Weird menu screens and games with no music...
