Incredibly dated even before the outbreak of WW1, when would your mod take place?
Because the Germans did some limited testing with an electrically powered 7.92mm gatling weapon in WW1 and WW2.

It'd honestly be cool as fuck to see, I mean, if it's a water-cooled one, it'd be incredibly heavy, but it'd also be unbelievably awesome to lug around an old Maxim and fire it from the hip. They did make (sort of) portable Maxim guns by WW1.
