Mind that save batteries can run dry (after like 25+ years, this is starting to become a risk with these old cartridge games), in which case it will still play, but it'll lose your saves and be unable to save anymore. However, these batteries can be replaced, if you know anything about soldering, it's not very hard, but there should be people who can do it for you, there's even a method for keeping the saves if they're still there.
