You know the drill.

There was a Sega CD game I played. I remember it being sci-fi, and it was what I think is a first-person adventure game. At the start was a man you could talk to, and if you asked him to come with you, he would refuse each time and eventually start yelling at you if you persisted. It also had really good voice acting, even when you consider the time it was made.

Any ideas?

I played a demo of it years back. One button made the character mutter something and make the camera go up, I think.
