The Dreamcast was highly damaging to tournament settings. Its video output was not secure, player inputs or the game may be paused due to the same weak connection to the system that does not lock. The console had trouble with all manners of fight sticks and converters people had. They were all legitimate complaints, which made the community avoid Dreamcast usage if at all possible.

I recall one instance it was one of the Cannon brothers slamming one against the edge of a stage then onto the ground and then a few people joined in on stomping the pieces to a crowd of applause. Another time, this one I remember definitely on stream for one that I couldn't attend, it was after the MVC2 tournament finished, for timeframe it was a bit after MVC2 was announced for arrival onto XBLA, someone took a hammer and went to town on a Dreamcast and I think they prominently displayed the cracked PCB between the stream announcers for their closing statements. If I remember correctly one of the commentators at least did not approve stating it was like a friend that they will not miss (Yipes?).

I remember watching a lot of streams on Realplayer of live events. Even Sonic Team had one going in their offices to Samba de Amigo music. A few of those aforementioned tournaments were on Ustream which may explain why I was unable to dig up youtube footage of Dreamcast destruction. The tougeki tournaments had their own client to stream their games back then too.

Primarily this >>9270045 is the reason. Grappler characters tend to be the gutter tier in the Street Fighter games. No one likes using them since they lose 90% of the match to hopefully land their one move 4 times to win. I had to fly to Japan to find someone that actively chose a grappler character, but more typically it is just random select giving my friends the critical fail of a grappler character that anyone would even play that character type. Most players are too dumb to use anyone else aside from Ken/Ryu/Gouki, just go online and you will have to search hard though a sea of Kens to find any other character being used, and that is partially the fault of Capcom's balancing giving them all the tools while depriving all other characters, especially grapplers which I feel bad for only having 1.

I can't decide between Elena, Ibuki, and Maokto. They're all cute; for 3 I mained Elena even though she's middle of the road bad and Ken suits me better but I refuse to use the Ansatsuken characters. I put up with Elena being bad and when she finally had the time to shine in 4, dominating all other characters for a brief moment, everyone simultaneously quit the game.

My favorite songs are the Ken/Alex stage, Dudley stage, and Elena stage. I like almost all the songs in 3, even ones like Hugo stage.

I remember first seeing the game in the arcades with just the marquee reading "THREE". At the time everyone else was playing X-men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Street Fighter, so the machine got no attention. If I wasn't broke, I would have loved to have joined my friends going to EVO where they actually were in attendance for the Daigo parry. I had to hear their stories and watch it for myself on Quicktime videos.

I regret not having the money to contribute to the road trip/hotel and all my friends were there live on the Daigo full parry, while I was stuck here doing fast food. I had to watch the clip made on SRK.

Mained Elena in 3rd Strike because she felt the best for me to use aside from Ken. A shame she became kind of despised in 4 for finally being viable.
