Perhaps more of a shooter / puzzle hybrid. It was less about shooting down enemies than it was figuring out how to advance to the next screen. You have limited quantities of weapons, and have to use them functionally to surmount the various obstacles the game places in your path. On harder modes, you'll have to sacrifice a few ships just to replenish your weaponry.

Also, no mention of Centipede or Millipede?

ITT: Retro games that only you played

Despite being a little rough around the edges, I thought Cybernoid was something of an overlooked gem. I actually decided to git gud and beat it one day.

>A shoot 'em up, but you have to fly your ship through labyrinths and have a limited quantity of special weapons with which to destroy specific types of obstacles.
>Only three labyrinths / stages, so the game can be finished in just a few minutes.
>Higher difficulty levels really require you to pay attention to your limited weapon stocks, and at times, you may have to sacrifice a life just to replenish your weapons.
>Fits the "so bad, it's good" trope.

There's a sequel, but I don't think it was ported to any home consoles that I'm familiar with. I'd be genuinely curious to check it out sometime.
