That's a good rule to have! You are smart. Honestly, video games are about having fun. If a person was smart, they would only collect the games that interest them—games they really like. Countless times I have looked up at my boxed Rocket Knight Adventures game and felt really cool. Whenever I look at my copy of Stadium Events however, there is a certain level of respect I have inside for the game, but a big part of me also feels like I wasted money. I mean, anyone can play it on a ROM and the game isn't exactly great. It's not like it's my favorite game or anything. But alas, to complete my collection, I needed a copy of it, so I bit my tongue and bought it. Some people would say I'm hardcore. Maybe that's true. Whether or not it's a good thing is debatable! Haha
