Did Rare go too far in some places? It has a bad reputation today, but I remember enjoying it as a kid.

Does it deserve its status as the black sheep of the N64 Rare games?

Okay, so how about
>Classic Kong Line-Up (Dixie replaces Tiny, Funky replaces Chunky, Lanky can stay)
>Stages more in the sprit of DKC instead of scrapped Banjo-Tooie courses
>Stages are more dense, making them easier to traverse and feel less hollow and ghostly
>Kong-specific barrels are located near puzzles and areas where their specific bananas are located
>David Wise instead of Grant Kirkhope
These 5 changes would've made this the greatest 3D platformer of all time.

why? the worst part of the game is the overabundance of bonus barrel games. this game is miles better than the trash that is banjo-tooie. dk64 has still got it. fantastic game. is this the ultimate /vr/etro pleb filter

Playing this for the first time since the early 2000s, and I really don't get the hate. It's a fun game, and the level design is great. Where's all the negativity around this coming from? Internet edgelords??

Why is DK64 hated? Like genuinely, because I've never played the game. I thought it was a beloved game on the N64 but reviews seem so mixed or even negative. Why is this game bad? Or good if you like it.
