yeah the main draw were the kombat kodes youd enter at the end of the game to unlock hidden characters. in vanilla mk3 robo smoke was the only one. i remember being disappointed if the machine didnt have him unlocked (my local arcade did, so i didnt bother knowing the kode). almost everyone picked him, and if he wasnt available, then it was kabal. but yeah the kodes you put in at the 2 player vs screen werent as great. i think the most commone one was disabling throws. i remember some people despising throws and always trying to get the other guy to go along and disable them.
